About Us

Launched more than 30 years ago, Total Confusion aimed to bring the best in wargaming together for a 4-day event in Massachusetts. The first event in 1987 was held at the Yankee Drummer in Auburn by Wes Carpentier, who continued to attend the event as it evolved into New England’s largest game convention. Held the weekend after Presidents Day, the February convention features a full schedule of games, a stocked exhibitor hall, and casual play areas for players of all skill levels. TotalCon 36 will be themed around Universal Studio Monsters and feature many games revolving around horror.

Featured Events

Throughout the event, volunteer GMs will host board gaming, tabletop gaming, RPG gaming, and card gaming sessions. A full schedule of events will be available at TotalCon. The convention will also allow players to participate in panel workshops, open gaming sessions, and special gaming events including the B-17 Mission event, or enjoy the many available titles in the expansive board game library.

Featured Exhibitors

TotalCon will feature several exhibitor and vendor areas, including a standard Exhibition Hall, where retailers and local artists can set up shop and purvey wargames, miniatures, artwork, and so much more. Local gaming groups are also invited to showcase services and their meetups.

The convention will also feature an Indie Alley, where indie game publishers can offer demos of their board games, role-playing games, wargames, and special guests like Peter Blix Bryant, Levi Combs, Ben Gerber, Zach Glazar, and many more!

Volunteer Information

TotalCon is actively seeking volunteers to help run errands, assist attendees, oversee gaming areas, provide security, and provide registration assistance. Volunteers are rewarded on the following sliding scale:

4 hours – 1 day admission plus 1 T-Coin
8 hours – 2 days admission plus 2 T-Coin
12 hours – 3 days admission plus 3 T-Coin
16 hours – full weekend admission plus 4 T-Coin
20 hours – full weekend admission, t-shirt, plus 5 T-Coin
24 hours – full weekend admission, t-shirt, plus 6 T-Coin
28 hours – full weekend admission, t-shirt, plus 7 T-Coin
32 hours – full weekend admission, t-shirt, plus 8 T-Coin
